Our u14 team 2 boys made the trip to Duagh to take on st Joseph’s on Sunday. With only 7 players available this was always going to be a tough battle against a well drilled, coached st Joseph’s side who always defend their home court with great pride and passion. Magic made a great start with great running on offense and built up a good lead in the first quarter. Joseph’s responded well and competed for everything as the game progressed being a little unlucky with some of their finishing. A huge shift from our boys lead to some tired fouls which stifled our defence as the game wound down and we finished the game with just 4 players on the floor.
No one player needs mention here but to say that while initially our season was disappointing and the boys did loose heart on occasion they have, to their credit, bounced back - each kid accepting their role on the team, supporting one another on defence and pushing the ball hard on offence. Their passing has been the most pleasing part of their development. Games are now coming thick and fast and further improvement will be called but their is no doubt that like DPD these boys will deliver. Hasta la Victoria siempre💪
