Women in Sport Week at Tralee Magic

When people think about sport, they usually picture the highlights โ€” the buzzer-beaters, the big wins, the celebrations.

But anyone involved in club sport knows the truth: the highlights only happen because someone did the unglamorous work first.

Before every game there are keys collected, halls opened, cones laid out, kits sorted, lifts organised and messages sent. There are benches to manage, clocks to run, whistles to blow, jerseys to wash and a hundred small jobs that quietly keep the game moving.

Those moments rarely make a scoreboard or a headline, but they are the engine of every club.

Across Tralee Magic, women play a huge role in making that engine run. As coaches, team managers, table officials, referees, organisers, volunteers and supporters, they help create the environment where players can train, compete and enjoy the game.

Every season is made up of thousands of these small acts โ€” the kind that donโ€™t come with medals or trophies but without which sport simply wouldnโ€™t happen.

Women in Sport Week is a chance to recognise the players on the court, but it is also a moment to appreciate the people who make the court possible.

At Tralee Magic, we are grateful to the women who contribute to our club in so many ways โ€” helping build the environment where players can learn the game, compete with pride, and carry the jersey the right way.

Because the truth about sport at club level is simple: the work behind the scenes is what makes everything else possible. ๐Ÿ’™
