Wishing all our Tralee Magic members, families and friends a very Merry Christmas — and a New Year full of health, happiness and plenty of promise.
At this time of year, it’s important to pause and recognise what makes this club what it is: people. Tralee Magic is built on hours that don’t show up on a scoreboard — the late-night messages, the early hall set-ups, the lifts, the laundry, the fundraising, the organising, the coaching, the encouraging.
A huge thank you to our club committee, who work tirelessly behind the scenes to make sure every team has what it needs to compete, and that there’s a clear pathway for players to develop and thrive.
To our coaches — thank you for the time, the patience, the standards you set, and the belief you pour into players week after week. This club simply doesn’t exist without you.
To our team managers, the steady hands and calm heads who keep everything moving — you are the glue that holds it all together, and we appreciate you more than you know.
A special mention too for the volunteers who show up week in, week out — often with no family connection to the club at all. That kind of generosity is humbling, and it says everything about the community around Tralee Magic.
To our sponsors, new and longstanding, thank you for backing the club as costs continue to rise. Your support helps us keep standards high, opportunities open, and the experience positive for everyone involved.
And to the parents and families — thank you for the lifts, the support, the advice, the sideline encouragement, and the quiet sacrifices that make it all possible.
Over the festive season, if you can, please get out and support our Magic players lining out with the Garvey’s Tralee Warriors Men, coached by our own John Dowling and assisted by Kevin O’Donoghue and Jimmy Diggins. They have a huge Cup Semi-Final against UCD Marian in Cork on 3rd January, and they’ll also be taking part in the Castleisland Blitz — they’d love to see plenty of Magic support in the stands.
And the big days out don’t stop there — our U20 girls head to Cork on 4 January to defend their National Cup title, carrying the standard they set last season and looking to go again. We’re also incredibly proud of our U16 and U18 girls who are powering ahead in the inaugural National League — taking on a new challenge, raising the bar, and showing exactly what this group is about.
And to our boys teams across the club — we’re proud of the work being put in every week. The commitment to training, to learning, and to getting better together is the foundation that everything else is built on. Keep showing up, keep competing, keep building — the progress is happening, and it matters.
From all of us, thank you for everything you’ve given to the club this year. Enjoy the break, recharge the batteries, and we’ll be ready to go again in the New Year.
Merry Christmas,
Roy Bowler
