Tralee Magic made it a full-team performance in Mounthawk, powering to an 80–22 Kerry Cup win with a relentless start and four quarters of honest work.

Going into the game short-handed, with some of the squad’s senior girls getting a well-earned rest, the younger group responded in the best possible way — doing exactly what was asked of them and stepping up with real conviction. From the opening tip, Magic set the tone with pace, pressure, and sharp decision-making, racing into a 29–4 first period lead.

That early burst didn’t fade. Magic stayed locked in defensively and kept the ball moving offensively, adding a 20–2 second period to take a commanding advantage into the break. Even with the game opening up, the focus stayed on the basics — defending without fouling, sprinting the floor, and making the extra pass.

To their credit, St. Brendan’s played every second of the game and never stopped competing. They kept battling through the third and fourth periods, but Magic continued to build with a 16–6 third and a 15–10 finish to close the night out the right way.

A big win on the scoreboard — and an even bigger one for the group in terms of attitude, togetherness, and younger players taking their chance.

A special mention for Emily Flynn, who was especially impressive on the night — and not just for what she brought on-court. Emily, alongside resting teammate Anna O’Sullivan, had already been busy earlier, helping coach our U12 girls to a brilliant, exciting win over Killarney Cougars directly before this match. Straight from coaching mode into game mode, and she set the tone with energy, composure, and leadership.
