Tralee Magic’s U12 Division 3 girls hit the road on Sunday morning and came home with a well-earned 28–12 win over Vixens after a controlled, hard-working team performance.
The girls settled quickly and found their scoring touch early, putting up 8 points in the opening quarter while limiting Vixens to 4. The second quarter was all about defence: Tralee Magic kept their shape, communicated well and hustled on every possession, holding Vixens scoreless and stretching the lead to 12–4 at half time.
Vixens showed real character after the break. They came out far more aggressive in the third, attacking the basket and matching Magic’s intensity. The home side outscored Magic 8–6 in that spell, reminding our girls that nothing comes easy in this league and shaving the margin to 18–12.
The response in the final quarter said a lot about this young Magic group. Instead of panicking, they regrouped, tightened up again on defence and pushed the tempo in transition. Their movement off the ball created good looks at the basket, and they finished the game with a 10–0 quarter to close out the contest 28–12.
Every player who stepped on court contributed – from the girls knocking down shots to those boxing out, and bringing energy from the bench. It was another positive step in their development, with plenty learned and lots to build on as they continue their U12 Division 3 journey together.
