Tralee Magic’s U16 girls, suited up in black and blue, turned in a big performance in Mounthawk to take a 54–38 win over KCYMS in Division 1.

Magic came out with real intent, locking in on defence and turning stops into scores to build a 16–6 lead by the end of the first quarter. The second period saw more patient offence and clever passing, and the girls headed into the long break 26–14 in front after another controlled 10–8 quarter.

After half-time, Magic really stamped their authority on the game. The third quarter was all about work rate – crashing the boards, pushing the pace and attacking the basket – and a 16–9 stretch put real daylight between the sides. KCYMS kept battling and edged the final quarter 15–12, but Magic stayed composed, used the ball well and closed out a deserved 54–38 victory.

This one was all about the full squad. The guards handled pressure and pushed the break, the wings ran the floor and knocked down important shots, and the inside players battled on the glass and finished strongly around the rim. Everyone who stepped on court contributed – with scoring spread across the roster, big defensive possessions, and plenty of smart, unselfish basketball that shows how far this group is coming as a team.

Huge thanks to our visitors KCYMS for travelling to Tralee and giving us a tough, sporting game, to referees John and Tomas, and to our table officials for keeping everything running smoothly on the night. 💙
