From Academy Roots to Regional Ranks
Paul’s journey is the kind every club hopes for — a player who came up through the Tralee Magic Academy, fell in love with the game early, and kept putting in the work year after year. Now a commanding center, Paul’s growth has been a steady climb built on consistency, focus, and a lot of extra hours putting in the grind.
Coaches say he’s one of those players who always comes back sharper after the summer break — proof that while others rest, Paul is still putting in reps. His commitment and quiet determination have made him a standout presence in the Magic U16 squad and a reliable force under the boards.
But what really sets him apart is his attitude. Paul is known among teammates as dependable, humble, and supportive — the kind of player who lifts those around him, celebrates team success, and shows respect for the game in everything he does.

A Proud Moment for Club and Player
After earning his spot on the South West roster during the summer, Paul has been training hard with the regional group ahead of this weekend’s tournament. Competing at that level means long drives, extra sessions, and balancing school and club commitments — and Paul has handled it all with trademark dedication and focus.
“Paul’s growth over the years has been fantastic to watch,” says U16 Head Coach Paul O’Connor. “Each season he comes back stronger and more skilled, which shows how much effort he puts in during the off-season. He’s not just talented on the court – he’s also one of the most supportive teammates you could ask for. He should be very proud of himself for making the South West team. We are delighted for him. It shows that hard work pays off.”
As the 2025 Inter-Regional Tournament tips off in Galway, everyone in Tralee Magic will be watching with pride. Paul’s journey is proof that steady work and a great attitude can take you far — and no matter what happens this weekend, he’s already made his club and community proud.
Good luck, Paul — we're behind you 100% ! 💙
