Registration is now live for the Basketball Ireland Open Talent Identification sessions for the U14, U15 and U17 Academy programmes – and we strongly encourage all eligible Tralee Magic boys and girls to get involved. Over the years, many of our players have proudly worn Regional, Provencial and National Academies jerseys. Their journeys all began at trials just like these – and yours can too!

Tralee Magic players have a long and proud tradition of performing exceptionally well at Academies. Many of our club members have gone on to represent Munster, Ireland and even earn international honours – and it all began by putting themselves forward for these trials.

The benefits of attending the Academy go far beyond selection. Players train with top-level coaches, develop their skills in a high-performance environment, and meet new teammates from across the region. It’s a chance to push yourself, learn more about the game, and experience basketball at a higher level.

While details for this year are not yet released, in the past the commitment has been very manageable – typically one training session per month, with no regular games and just a single end-of-year tournament. That means it’s a brilliant opportunity to grow as a player without clashing with your school or club commitments.
