In their final game of the season, our U16 Girls Div 2 team displayed incredible determination and resilience against a strong St. Colemans side. Despite the scoreline, the girls gave it their all from start to finish, showing great teamwork and effort throughout the match.
Their dedication over the season has been outstanding, and both their coach and team manager are immensely proud of each and every player, both individually and as a team. The growth and commitment they have shown have been inspiring, and we know they will continue to develop and succeed in the future.
It’s important to remember that setbacks are not the end—they are just part of the journey. Sue Bird, one of the greatest female basketball players of all time, faced major challenges early in her career. It would have been easy to give up, but instead, she focused on recovery, worked harder, and went on to become a four-time WNBA champion and five-time Olympic gold medalist. She once said, “Success is never final, failure is never fatal. It’s courage that counts.”
So to our girls—stay positive, keep working hard, and trust in yourselves. You have so much potential, and this is only the beginning!..... And if there’s any proof that setbacks don’t define a team, it’s in the post-match team photo. The smiles say it all—this is a group that supports each other, enjoys the game, and keeps pushing forward no matter what.
A massive thank you to all the parents for your unwavering support throughout the year— it has been Jason and Nora's absolute pleasure to work with this fantastic group of girls.
We’d also like to extend our thanks to referees Julie and Ronan, as well as table officials Lisa and Nicola, for their time and effort. Finally, a big thank you to Coach Percy O’Sullivan and the St. Colemans team for making the trip to Tralee.
Well done to everyone involved—onwards and upwards!
