Tralee Magic’s U12 Division 2 team traveled to Killarney this evening for their penultimate game of the 24/25 season, taking on a strong St Paul’s side. The last time these two teams met, it took double overtime and coaches’ free throws to settle things, ending in a dramatic draw. Tonight, however, Magic put in a determined performance to secure a well-earned 27-12 victory.

From the opening tip, it was clear that neither team would back down easily. The number of jump balls throughout the game showed just how much both sides fought for every possession. St Paul’s started strong, applying intense defensive pressure and making it difficult for Magic to find their rhythm in the first half. Their teamwork and energy were impressive, ensuring every basket was hard-earned.

As the game progressed, Magic began to settle, moving the ball well and taking advantage of their scoring opportunities. Their defensive efforts and quick transitions helped them pull away in the second half, but St Paul’s never let up, battling to the final buzzer and showing great spirit.

A huge thank you to Caitriona and Mary G for their excellent coaching and encouragement from the sidelines. Appreciation also to referees Aaron and Tony, who officiated the game superbly, ensuring a fair and competitive contest. Finally, a big thanks to Luke and Fionn at the table for keeping everything running smoothly.

With one game left in the season, Magic will look to finish strong as they host Gneeveguilla tomorrow, Tuesday 11th, in Mounthawk for their final home game. Well done to both teams for a fantastic display of basketball!
