Tralee Magic U14 Boys Finish Home Campaign with a Strong Performance
Tralee Magic U14 Boys rounded off their home campaign in Kerry Area Basketball’s Division 1 in style with a hard-fought victory over a spirited Corca Dhuibhne side at Mounthawk Secondary School. The final score of 52-32 doesn’t fully reflect the competitive nature of the game, as both teams battled hard for every possession.
The first quarter set the tone, with Magic establishing an 18-9 lead thanks to solid team play and aggressive defense. Corca Dhuibhne responded well in the second period, tightening up at the back and limiting Magic’s scoring opportunities. At halftime, the home side held a 30-18 advantage, but the game was still very much in the balance.
After the break, Magic maintained their defensive intensity, forcing turnovers and capitalizing on fast-break opportunities. Corca Dhuibhne continued to fight, showing great resilience, but struggled to break down Magic’s well-organized defense. By the end of the third quarter, Magic extended their lead to 41-26.
The final quarter saw both teams empty their benches, allowing all players to gain valuable court time. Magic closed out the game with disciplined play, securing the win to finish their home schedule on a high.
