Going into the KABB Cup semi-final without two of our starting five was always going to be a challenge. Despite this setback, the Tralee Magic squad showed incredible grit and determination against a strong St. Brendan’s side.
From the outset, the game was played at an intense pace, with both teams battling hard on both ends of the floor. St. Brendan’s edged the first quarter 20-16, making the most of their early opportunities. Tralee Magic fought back in the second, keeping it close with a 19-18 period, ensuring they remained well within striking distance at halftime.
The third quarter, however, proved pivotal. St. Brendan’s came out strong and put up an impressive 22 points while limiting Magic to just 11. Despite a valiant effort in the final period, Magic’s fightback wasn’t enough, with the game finishing 77-61 in favor of St. Brendan’s.
While the result didn’t go our way, the team can hold their heads high for the effort and resilience they showed throughout the game. Every player stepped up in the face of adversity, demonstrating true teamwork and determination.
A huge thank you to St. Brendan’s for a hard-fought and sporting contest. We wish them the very best of luck in the final. This may not have been our night, but Magic will regroup, learn from the experience, and come back stronger.
